Privacy policy
What this website collects, which is very little, and what happens to it. Last updated .
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising or tracking scripts. The only personal information it ever receives is what you type into the contact form, and that is used solely to reply to you.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers airorseatravel.com (“this site”, “we”), an independently owned and operated travel guide. Questions about it can be sent through the contact form.
2. What we collect
The contact form
When you send a message we receive the name, email address, subject category and message text you enter, along with the IP address and browser user-agent string the request arrives with. The IP and user-agent are recorded only to make abuse of the form traceable.
We use this to read and reply to your message. Nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not build a profile, and we do not share, sell, rent or trade any of it.
Server logs
Our web host records standard access logs for every request to any website: the IP address, the time, the page requested, the response code, the referring page and the user-agent. This is ordinary server operation, necessary for security and diagnostics, and it happens regardless of anything on this site. These logs are retained by the host according to their own schedule and are not used by us for analytics or marketing.
What we do not collect
- No cookies of any kind, first or third party.
- No analytics — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, nothing.
- No advertising, retargeting or conversion pixels.
- No social media embeds, share widgets, comment systems or chat widgets.
- No fonts, scripts, stylesheets or images loaded from another company’s servers. Everything this site serves comes from this site.
- No account system, so no passwords and no login data.
- No location data, and we never request device permissions.
The practical effect is that loading a page here does not tell any third party that you did so.
3. Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal basis for handling contact-form data is legitimate interest — responding to someone who has chosen to contact us — and, for the abuse-prevention data, our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable. You provide the information voluntarily and only when you decide to write to us.
4. How long we keep it
Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, and reviewed periodically. If you would like your message and email address deleted sooner, ask and we will delete them.
5. Where it is stored
Messages are delivered by email and stored on our web hosting account, which is operated on servers in the United States. If you are contacting us from outside the United States, your message will be transferred there. Sending us a message is your decision and you can decline to make it.
6. Who else sees it
Two categories of organisation, and no others:
- Our web host, which operates the server the site and its mail run on.
- Our email provider, which carries the message to us.
Neither processes your data for their own purposes on our instruction. We do not use any marketing, CRM, analytics or advertising service.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, use the contact form. In practice the only data we are likely to hold about anyone is a previous message from them.
8. Links to other websites
This site links out to travel providers, operators, airports and port authorities. Once you follow a link you are on their website and their privacy policy applies, not this one. They will almost certainly set cookies and run analytics. We have no control over and no visibility into what they collect.
We do not pass any information about you to those sites. A link from here is an ordinary link and carries no identifier of yours.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us a message, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this site ever adds analytics, advertising or any other data collection, this page will be updated before that happens and the “last updated” date will change. The cookies page describes what controls would be offered in that case.
